I have a d-link 628 rangebooster dual band router. I am trying to set it up so my aunt and cousin, who both live across the street (around 75 yards), can pick up the signal with their wireless devices, i.e. laptops, Nintendo wii, etc. I have to work off the g signal and I have it set up in a window looking at their house. I get a good signal until I step into their house then it is weak and disconnects and re-connects. I was wondering if i could just change out one of the antennas on the back to a 16 dbi omni-directional antenna and have good results?

Regarding to your question,
Because the router is dual band type, before we provide the antenna to you.
I need you to check with D-Link to see if it is only working 2.4G type when you use only the 802.11g function.
If the answer is yes, then you can choose our 2.4G type antenna to increase the receive signal.
For point to point the Panel antenna will provide the goods perfromance, not the omni type.
So the 16dBi is good enough to increase the signal.
Thank you very much.
