I am trying to figure out the best way to increase a wifi signal when using my MacBook Pro. I am not quite sure this will work? Does the antenna plug into a USB port? |

I currently us a Ruckus Metroflex to pickup Wifi from my ISP but the singnal is not the best. I'm looking to upgrade without spending alot of money! The tower the signal comes from is around 5800 feet way. I think I need an outdoor panel antenna which would connect to a wireless router so I can have a wireless indoor network? If you can make any suggestions regarding the equipment I would need I would appreciate it.
Thank you

If you can receive the wireless signal already, then this antenna will be good choose to receive the signal.
You will also need the adapter cable to connect between the antenna to your router.
Thank you very much. |

I have a yagi antenna at my house connected to a Linksys router.
At my Nabors house (1,000ft. away) has a brick house, he has good signal outside the house but inside he has little to no signal. His home computer has a wireless card in it in the basement and his laptop has a high power USB wireless adapter and inside the house it gets signal strength of about (20%). But if you go down by the home computer it drops off to 0%.
So is there a way to put like a panel antenna on the outside of his house and run the wire into the house to like a router or something to send wireless around the inside of his house? To amplify the signal.

For sharing the signal indoor,
You might need to AP bridge, one is for receive the signal from your neighbor, another one is for transmit the signal to other place in your house.
The Panel antenna will work with 1000ft.
Thank you very much. |

We would like to know do you have the DSL already or you would like to receive the signal from outside??
If you have the DSL alread, you will need a computer as like the server work with LAN cable then use the USB adapter to share the wireless signal to other computer.
If not, if you are receive the signal from other place, you will need an AP bridge frist, same with the computer as like the server then use the USB adapter to share the signal to other computers.
This function probably can only work with window XP, for vista or MAC or other system will be only the celient type.
Thank you very much. |

This antenna does work with your wireless card, however you will need one adapter cable to work between them, you can choose the RP SMA male to N male LLC400 cable if you need the cable length is more than 7meter (20feet), for shorter than 7meter (20feet) you can choose the RP SMA male to N male LLC200 type cable.
Thank you very much. |
